When enabled, Planner allows is a module allowing you to connect teams, objectives and the request for additional workforce in your teams with an articulation of what is needed to enable outcomes.
Planner supports the notion of uses supply teams (aka chapters) as a centralised location to review and validate demand against the people in your chapter chapters against the requests for workforce changes based on a clear rationale of what is driving the ask.
Why do we need Planner?
During a planning cycle, leaders focus on delivering their business commitments with consideration of headcount, available roles, skills and budget. The aim is to meet demand from the existing workforce, which is efficient, retains IP and promotes internal growth. Planner enables the best of demand to supply process.
Planner provides the ability for demand leads (sometimes called Delivery Leads, or Domain Leads) to raise requests for the required capabilities to deliver on their upcoming committed delivery and specify the specific skill set that they seek. It also provides the supply leads such as Chapter Leads a central place to review and approve all the requests of their people and hence have an informed prioritisation conversations and alignment of resource availability. This module allows demand and supply leads to enter the forecasted full time equivalent amounts, skills and other notes per chapter.
