How to advance move, undo and monitor an advance of a team in TeamForm
Prerequisites
The user needs admin access to be able to perform Advanced Moves.
Advanced moves is not commonly used except in scenarios where
You have a capability e.g. designers fully decentralised and want them to appear as it they are a single structure to enable more convenient planning.
You are transforming your organisation from one operating model to another and only some reporting line teams of a given capability have moved to the new operating model structure.
The capability is built to enable a logical mapping of reporting lines (e.g. HRIS structure) to a new Supply structure (independently) - however works with teams only and not individuals.
If you need the ability to manage the assignment of individuals to a given supply structure you can enable change supply groups and manually maintain these memberships within TeamForm until you update your system of record (e.g. HRIS) or you continue to maintain this within TeamForm long term.
Step by step guide:
Go to the Team’s page and hit the button in the top right corner:
Select “Advanced Move”:
Select a new parent team:
(Note: you can select the current parent team if you wish to only modify the type of the team).
Select a new type for your team and all its children teams:
(Note: The new parent team you choose must be configured to host Chapter Area/Chapter/WWA for the move to succeed.).
Tick the toggle “Persistent Move”:
(Note: if you don't tick that option, an Worker file import will cancel the move).
Hit “Move”
✅ The team has been Advanced Moved.
(Note: in the UI, Advanced Moved teams show the initial parent team)
How to undo an Advanced Move?
Follow the above process, except follow the instructions below for the specific highlighted steps instead:
Step 3: Put back the team in its original parent.
Step 4: Select the original team types. Note: next Worker file import refresh will set back the right team types.
Step 5: Do not tick the toggle “Persistent Move”.
How to monitor the results of Advanced Moves?
Advanced Move information fall in the teams table, field team_property_overrides.
