Expanded scenario: Why do we need to worry about full-time equivalent (FTE)? Can’t I just allocate a person into a demand team?
Full-time equivalent (FTE) is used to track the ‘amount’ or proportion that a person is ‘in’ allocated into a demand team. A person may be in allocated into multiple teams and they may dedicate different amounts of time capacity to each team. Notating the amount of FTE t they dedicate to the team tracks this allocation of resourcing.
